Our advisory board comprises senior executives and industry thought leaders across our sector coverage. They provide expertise in the fields of leadership, investment banking, technology, entrepreneurship, and governance. This expertise is invaluable to SCD’s leadership, staff, and clients.

It helps to ensure that SCD Advisory stays at the forefront of the rapidly evolving M&A landscape. All Board advisory members have been working with SCD Advisory, in deals as buyers or clients, within the Professional Services sector in Australia.

Doug Robinson

Doug Robinson is a seasoned executive assisting businesses in accelerating to exception growth. He has over 30 years of business experience and most recently was the Managing Partner for IBM Consulting Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN and Korea. In this role he was responsible for all parts of the business including Marketing, Sales, Delivery, Finance, HR, Legal, Contracting, Applied Research, Garage and industry solution development. His experience also spans many industries including Travel, Technology, Retail, Consumer Products, Mining, Oil and Gas, Electronics, and Automotive.

Doug was involved in a M&A process with SCD Advisory as a buyer of SXiQ to IBM when he was Managing Partner of IBM Australia.

Grant Hartland

Grant Hartland was a former private banking COO, co-founder of Hypothesis, a digital transformation firm sold to McKinsey, a global leader in consulting. Grant has developed a comprehensive, systemic approach to delivering operating model transformation with a whole-of-business perspective that best aligns with the strategic intent. He brings together functional experience across business architecture, product, technology, operations and program/project management to see things at a system level, identifying the dependencies opportunities and risks – people, structure, process, tech – that are crucial to strategy execution.

Grant in an ex-client of SCD Advisory when he sold Hypothesis to McKinsey, after a long relationship with SCD concluded by a sale process.

Tony Nimac

Tony Nimac has 32 years of experience as a KPMG Partner and Board member, a leader and grower of KPMG’s mid-market business and having worked with some leading Australian growth companies/entrepreneurs to assist fast-growth companies to scale with purpose. Tony brings his financial and governance knowledge as an Audit Partner as well as his commercial knowledge as a Deals Partner to help companies, their founders and Boards handle growth, accounting and regulatory pains and provide context on how to deal with capital needs, IPO and sale.

Tony has experienced SCD Advisory as a key player in the SME M&A market in Australia and brings also a deep knowledge of the Professional Services sectors.

Pierre brings 25 years of expertise in advising entrepreneurs, with a deep background in management and financial advisory across corporate finance, private banking, and wealth management. His extensive experience includes numerous sell-side and buy-side deals, IPOs, mergers, integrations, and consulting projects for both small businesses and large global corporations. As an established and highly regarded advisor, Pierre is known for his savvy, trusted guidance.

Pierre’s career began in Australia before he moved to France, where he worked with prominent business figures like billionaire François Pinault on M&A deals within the Artemis group. He then founded BC&D, an M&A small-cap firm in Paris, where he managed corporate advisory services across Europe, covering both origination and execution. His work extended beyond transactions, advising entrepreneurs on wealth management strategies to optimise the transition from business ownership.

In Paris, he held advisory roles at the Belgium Family Office (DeGroof) and as a senior private banker and head of the HNW segment for France at JP Morgan. Returning to Australia in 2015, Pierre established the ANZ subsidiary of a UK-headquartered M&A firm, executing 9 M&A transactions across Australia. In 2019, he launched SCD Advisory, where he has since completed 35+ transactions, earning multiple global awards in M&A advisory from 2021 to 2024. Notably, he was named ‘Deal Maker of the Year’ by Finance Monthly in 2022 for his sale of Hypothesis to McKinsey & Co.

Pierre graduated from the Business of Troyes in France and has a postgraduate in Corporate Finance from the University of Caen. He is also a certified Financial Analyst and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Pierre further enhanced his credentials by completing the “Leading Professional Services Firms” program at Harvard Business School. His track record and accolades highlight his dedication to excellence and his exceptional skill in delivering successful outcomes for his clients.

Pierre is French, Australian citizen, Overseas Citizen of India. He is married and has two children. He is passionate about international travel, gastronomy, sailing and golf. As an experienced sailor, his motto in business and life in general is: “We cannot direct the wind, but we can trim the sails”
