The transaction allowed Cyient to enter the Australian market in the strategic mining sector and acquire strong managerial capabilities, with the sellers taking on global leadership roles at Cyient, creating liquidity and gaining access to international responsibilities.
Following a 5-month consulting engagement to prepare IG Partners for sale, SCD crafted a go-to-market strategy and used a compelling sale-event story to engage with 64 potential buyers. SCD navigated two key challenges during the process: managing the business’s rapid growth and handling the unforeseen COVID-19 crisis, which hit during exclusive talks with Cyient. SCD maintained control of the narrative, tailoring updates to buyers and tactically managing the process.
